Elkins Otters

Jared Varner brings over two decades of swim knowledge from his swimming and coaching careers. Varner was a past Otters swimmer from 2001-2008 and previously coached from 2008-2011.  He rejoined the staff in 2021.  Varner swam for Elkins High School from 2004-2007 and WVU from 2007-2010.  He also started coaching the Randolph County Area YMCA Rays Swim Club in 2016, where he still serves.  He also volunteered for the Davis & Elkins swim teams as an assistant from 2016-2020. Jared has coached all levels of swimming and looks forward to helping the Otters have continued success. Coach Jared lives in Elkins with his wife, Chelsea, and their daughter, Carolina.
